SCHAEFF SKB800 ARTICULATED 4X4 DIGGER I put this machine on a classified but have little idea of value so have listed it by auction now to be fair to all. This was quite a machine in its day and certainly an alternative to your usual JCB, Case Massey machines. Potentially quite collectable. German Manufacture 4 Wheel Drive Articulated Steer 4 in one Bucket, Back Actor with Powerful Twin Rams Air cooled Deutz engine Tyres have 90% tread Bosch components I have had this Machine for about 5 years and used on a building project, It has now been finished sometime and the machine has been sat in the shed for a while , really needs someone who is going to use it, give it a service/overhaul and get more out of it. The hydraulics are very strong and will pull a barn down, the rams have been greased to protect the chrome- twin rams on the main back actor.See the machine lifting itself in the photo's The Back Actor unit can be removed quite easily The machine is not the fastest around the yard , I have been contacted by several people( following classified ad) who have these who say these are sluggish and as it is a hydraulic drive ( two speed) this may improve with use as it has not been used a great deal recently.

If you wanted to use this commercially/ every day I think it will require some work, this could be an just oil change , a new filter or a new gasket but I am no expert so please bear in mind that it will need some work/service. If you know what you are doing I'm sure this can be sorted out.Those who are mechanically minded will have the advantage here. Of course the machine will currently drive and reverse etc as it is of course does not affect the back actor or loader. The cab and wings has some surface rust but all pretty solid- please look at photos. Generally it is all very solid and in good The engine is a pretty good starter and has a heat system .

The old battery gave up the ghost in the recent frosts so I have purchased a a brand new battery and fitted this. Some of the lights work. Remember this is now 35 years old it is not a new machine and this should not be expected to be so. Please bear in mind the above I would welcome and recommend you to come and have a look and use it to get your own idea- I have tried to be fair but make your own mind up, different people have different ideas. The other buckets ( ditching and trenching) plus the pallet forks and bale spike cradle are available separately in the other items.
