Westwood Muscleman, like Tow Hoe self trailering mini micro excavator digger. I bought this for a landscaping project that never happened. Ideal compact self trailering (no hassle parking/storing a large flatbed trailer) micro excavator. These were made in small numbers in the mid to late eighties by Westwood in Plymouth.

It's history/hours etc are unknown. I intended to improve it as I ran it and to that end I sorted a few of the jobs that needed doing. It has new fuel tank, exhaust, pipework, electrics, throttle mechanism, hydraulic filter has less than a couple of hours on it. Filter indicator is new. Being a small Honda it's pretty bomb proof though this is a very old one.

You can pick up Honda clones or even a replacement for small money if you wanted a new one. Starts first pull and runs well on a tiny bit of petrol. At idle it does cut out after a few minutes. It's never bothered me. It comes with two buckets that are old and worn but use able for light duty (a general bucket and a trencher with teeth).

Also a nearly full 20l container of hydraulic oil and the original manuals in PDF. There is also two new Indispension suspension units with new 10" trailer wheels that I never got around to fitting. With the boom extended it balances easily for one person to move it on the flat. It does not have the narrow access wheels for getting up the side of residential buildings/alleyways. (The specs are visible in the parts diagrams if you wanted to fab them.) She's an old girl and she does weep from a couple of the rams but not so much I've felt the need to do anything about it.

Some of the worn pins and pivots have been welded in place by a previous owner with next to no welding ability.... It works but is another thing I'd sort out if I was keeping her. If you have an allotment or small holding or you just want something to run and improve that fits in a standard garage look no further. This could save you days of backbreaking digging or hire costs. I can't endorse the old wheels and hubs for highway use. They work but that would be at your own risk.

Please don't buy it expecting to run all day everyday fault free, its old, you are unlikely to corner the local plant hire market. Collection only. Cleared transfer before pickup. Tow ball or trailer required. Videos and other pictures available on request.
