The unit is supplied with one motor, we can also sell you motors separately if you have two different machines sizes you want to fit it too. Our unique valve and quality motors combined with the 16 sets of three knives helps maintain the 3000rpm and in the past it has meant that when tracking most flails would go so slow they would not cut. I have found using these flails that tracking is possible whilst cutting at a moderate speed although the flail is best used with the sweep of the arm or slewing. The cut size is incredible, have a look at our video and see the DA52 on a 1.7T machine chew the top off a 4" post. The strength of the body is good as well with the hood being of thick steel and then the gussets that run from one side to the other incorporating the digger mounting making it stronger than it ever needs to be.
The bearings are one of the best on the market being SKF. Due to the combination of the unique valve and high quality motor there is no need for a leak off line and this also makes the flail bidirectional. In reality you will use it one way as you will have set your digger for a free flow return to keep it cool. This being said it also means that the knives are sharp both sides so can be turned when blunt on one edge. The price price includes the- Bracket for digger we will need to know your digger model, bucket pin size mm, dipper width or gap between bucket brackets mm, and the centre to centre of pins particularly important if on a quick hitch.

Reference I bought the Ghedini DA73 Flail Head cutter for my JCB 803 and have been delighted, both by the performance of the cutter and by the service from Machineserv. Before ordering Machineserv were careful to get all the necessary measurements and coupling details from me, we discussed various options and they checked my intention for the use of the machine.
When it arrived it connected up perfectly and then when I came to use it the cutter ate through the gorse and broom, both trimming the ones I wanted to shape and taking others right to the ground in seconds. It cuts fine, so most debris was mulched as I went. There was enough power to drive the cutter and move the JCB at the same time, I could not have been more pleased. Clive Randall
