I flush everything out and use a conventional oil to run a short break in period on the engine and set the rings while checking the operation of the machine for about 30 minutes or so followed by a second fresh oil and filter change with a high zinc, Amsoil 10W-30 oil. I then do a full pre delivery inspection like the factory recommends including adjusting track tension(they are always to loose and will come off pretty easily and damage the track), check for missing hardware and torque everything, grease all the fittings with a high end grease( they always barely have any in them), clean and adjust the carb if needed, check for loose hydraulic lines along with changing out the fluid with a quality fluid, along with a few modifications that I have found each model can use to improve your ownership.
