This item is being sold strictly on classifieds board with no reserve and a $1.00 starting bid, not for sale locally and will sell to the highest bidder regardless of price! Specifications: 1996 Caterpillar 307 Excavator, EROPS (Cab), Mitsubishi 4D32-E1 54 Horsepower 4-Cylinder Turbo Diesel Engine SN:B94680, 12-Volt Electric Start, Steel Tracks, Caterpillar Digging Bucket, Mechanical Thumb, Hydraulic Backfill Blade, 16,000#-17,000# Machine, S/N: 9ZL03651, 7,247 Hours. Located in Mississippi, this unit belonged to a local government agency (city) here in Mississippi, was used by the small city since new in 1996, about 2 years ago they replaced the machine with a new one because of age, hours and the undercarriage giving them trouble, unit sat idle not being used for the last couple years although they did crank it regularly! We purchased it directly from the agency along with a package of other items, not from a broker or dealer, simply turning the excavator into cash. After purchasing we fired it up, jacked one side of the track adjuster out with a grease gun, loaded up on gooseneck and hauled to out location.

Unit was steam cleaned and brush washed, fluids checked and topped to proper levels, ran unit long enough to make sure it wasn’t running hot or anything like that, engine is good and strong, hydraulics are good and strong, undercarriage has some rust and the track adjusters will not stay jacked out, you can jack them out with a grease gun and within a short time they ease back in which in turn causes slack and on one side will go in so far track will throw itself off! The City said it starting doing that about a year before they replaced it, at first would stay out for some time but over time got to where it would not. Please understand the machine has been sitting for a while, it needs a good servicing and lubricating and of course seals put in track adjusters and possibly some undercarriage work if you so desire, it’s 20 years old and can be put back in service but does need some work, just a rough around the edges old cheap mid-size excavator. The overall paint and body can be seen clearly in the photos, the glass is busted in several spots around the cab and the front fold down glass is missing, boom has minimal slack for its age and hours but is pretty tight considering, turntable is tight, machine does pull both directions on both sides and will turn with no problems, the City said the upper section from turntable up gave them no problems and was in good condition! The photos and video were taken the day of the listing on October 20th and show the excavator in its current condition!
